Kurdistan's Pishmarga Forces Retake Two More Towns

Iraqi Kurdistan's Pishmarga forces retook two more towns on the way to Iraq's largest dam after carrying out a series of operations on the positions of the ISIL terrorists.

Informed Iraqi military sources told the al-Jazeera TV channel that the Pishmarga forces evicted the ISIL militants and recaptured the towns of Ashrafia and Batnaya in the Eastern part of the Mosul dam.

Their progress was reportedly slowed down by explosive devices, including homemade bombs and landmines, placed by the ISIL terrorists.

Peshmerga fighters recaptured Tel Skuf, about 15 kilometers East of the Mosul dam, from the ISIL terrorists early on Sunday morning.

The ISIL, an Al-Qaeda splinter group, has in the recent months seized some parts of territory in Iraq and Syria and declared a caliphate.
